Each person is engaged in a unique journey through life, in search of his or her own meaning and purpose. Life consists of numerous challenges some of which leave people feeling distressed and unable to cope.

Therapy is about addressing these issues and working towards meaningful change. Entering into a counselling or psychotherapeutic relationship primarily involves gaining a deeper understanding and acceptance of oneself. This process can take place for an individual, a couple or family.

The relationship with the therapist offers a facilitative non-threatening environment, where people seek help in exploring his or her internal struggles and real life situations in a confidential space. This process can enable a person to discover inner resources and build the strength to make meaningful choices and live a more satisfying life.

Why Counselling and Psychotherapy?

At certain times in our lives, we all encounter difficult or challenging situations. Family and friends can be a great support yet occasionally we may need someone with more skill to talk to. Counselling can be very helpful for example, when people feel anxious, depressed, angry or suicidal or have suffered a loss/bereavement, feel stressed and unable to cope, lack confidence or experience relationship or family difficulities.

At Blue Sky Counselling and Psychotherapy, you can expect a respectful and confidential response to whatever issues are concerning you. Attending counselling and psychotherapy can help to make sense of experiences, feelings, thoughts, or behaviours that are unique to you as an individual.Through the process of therapy you gain a better understanding of yourself. Here is a link to some reviews that some of my past clients posted on the well respected Whats Clinic website http://www.whatclinic.com/psychotherapists/ireland/county-kildare/naas/blue-sky-counselling-and-psychotherapy/counselling/reviews

Initial Session

How can I make an appointment to see Austin?

Blue Sky appreciates that taking the first step and picking up the phone to call the service can be very difficult. It is my goal to ensure that I make this experience a positive one for you. When you call Blue Sky, I will take your details and schedule an initial assessment for a date and time that best suits your availability.

Your initial assessment usually lasts between 30-45 minutes. This is not a counselling session but rather an opportunity to explore if counselling is the correct option for you at this stage of your life. This session provides an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have on the process and explore some of the reasons you wish to commence counselling. If after this first meeting you decide not to go ahead with counselling this is not a problem, there is no commitment to attend counselling at this stage in the process.

If you make the decision to continue, a time schedule will then be arranged to satisfy your needs.
